Dan Collins and a Piano

About Dan Collins and a Piano

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember watching my dad mess around on the piano when I was maybe 5 or 6 years old. He couldn't play much as an untrained pianist, but I was captivated by the little trills and melodies he would plunk out. My first lessons followed shortly after. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Brad Mehldau, Highway Rider John Mayer, Born and Raised The Gabe Dixon Band, The Gabe Dixon Band These three albums all came at important times in my life and thus serve as a sort of soundtrack that transport me back. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Day Turns into Night” This might be the saddest song I ever write. I know that everything dies, but it's not dying itself that makes me sad, it's the fading of memories and trace existence. And maybe that's why I write songs... What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? There isn't a particular "moment" that stands out as the pinnacle of my career, and that's because I've always seen songwriting as an essential part of my life, a slow-and-steady walk down the tracks rather than a rush to the top. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Playing music with my daughters would be pure joy!
