A great podcast!
This is great to listen to and expand your animation knowledge all while entertaining yourself. As a non writer I find it interesting to hear their perspective on many different types of animation. Great work Chris and Mackenzie. It's like a reoccurring nightmare for your ears. ;)
Excellent podcast
One episode they mention Clone High and I get excited because someone else watched that show. The next they mention they don't like Firefly and I question everything they've said before it. It's a roller coaster of emotions.
Equal parts critical analysis and goofing around
Equal parts critical analysis and goofing around, Writers Get Animated discusses everything you could (and couldn't) imagine regarding animated shows. Chris and Mackenzie, two writers in their own right, merge thoughtful discourse with their love of pop culture and animation. There's something for everyone in this family-friendly podcast -- animation fanatics, parents, PhDs, and casual bystanders alike will enjoy listening. WGA runs the gamut from an in-depth literary-visual analysis of What's Opera Doc, to an incredibly thought-provoking and honest discussion of diversity and representation in animation, to the purely absurd. Beware: you will never view your Saturday morning cartoons the same way again!
