I couldn't put it down, but I needed a little more

There are a lot of gems in this book and for that reason alone I'd say it's a worthwhile read. She's been through some pretty, rough stuff in her life and is able to capture the readers attention in a way that makes you want to keep reading in order to know, " how'd she overcome that?"

Now for the negatives...

The recurrent theme of, "God got me," was a little too cliché and stale for my taste.

I understand we all have different beliefs, and I do believe in a higher power, but the author sometimes comes across like those women who claim they don't need a man because they have Jesus, lol. (She never says this, it's just the impression I got.) It's not really believable.

I'm sure other "believers" will eat it up, but for me parts of the book were the same old semi-preachy, hope selling rhetoric that I personally just do not connect with. I do appreciate that she didn't inject her religious preference into the book. My only wish is that she actually went deeper into the "how" vs the "what" of loving yourself. Like instead of saying..."I embraced my imperfections" tell how you embraced your imperfections. What exactly did you do? I was expecting something more concrete/detailed but I guess that's why the book is "a quest to self love" as opposed to a "guide" to self love. She gives enough information, and as I mentioned earlier the advice is pretty sound, but you kind of have to put it together for yourself as she basically only gives you an outline with only a few details. Embrace your flaws, forgive, let God show you....Again, good stuff, but really only scratching the surface...

Lastly , there are waaay too many typos and grammatical errors. Just way too many for a novel that I spent coins on. Sorry, the Virgo in me was super annoyed every time I had to reread something for clarity especially since there were so many valuable takeaways otherwise.
Anyway, glad it's a part of my collection. I found myself highlighting several parts that I'll be sure to pull out reread later.

Amazing

Amazing. This has to be one of the best, fulfilling books I’ve ever read. It’s such a relief to know i wasn’t the only woman going through these types of problems and hardships. I’d even re read some pages just to fully understand it. Now it’s time to take all the knowledge it has given me to good use ! Thank you for all of the encouragement ❤️
