About Whethan

Chicago DJ and producer Whethan was just 15 when he broke through with a viral remix of London producer Mssingno’s “XE3” in 2014. He holds the distinction of having performed at his own high school homecoming dance in 2016. • The artist born Ethan Snoreck was initially known as “Wheathin.” One of his early productions was a remix of a Wheat Thins jingle, which he created to prove to his friends that he could make music. The snack brand asked him to change his name in 2016. • Whethan left high school early to tour with The Chainsmokers in 2017. He returned just long enough to attend his graduation ceremony. • Along with a steady stream of his own singles, including 2018’s “Be Like You” and “Radar”—both Top 40 hits on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart—Whethan has remixed songs by acts including Zayn, Ty Dolla $ign, Lorde, and Post Malone. • “High,” a 2018 collaboration with Dua Lipa, appears on the Fifty Shades Freed movie soundtrack. The same year, Tom Morello asked him to produce the song “Every Step That I Take,” from Morello’s album The Atlas Underground. • After a 2018 EP, Life of a Wallflower, Vol. 1, Whethan released his first LP, Fantasy, in 2020.
