We Disappear

We Disappear

On their seventh album, the Portland trio explore themes of isolation over dynamic bursts of lo-fi rock. We Disappear opens with blistering feedback, a sound that sizzles underneath as Hutch Harris shouts, "Into the code, we stay alive!" But the upbeat punk-pop of "My Heart Went Cold" belies post-breakup regrets, and even the initial concept of communal online immortality (“Into the Code”) is rebuked on the dark and sludgy "The Great Dying". It all comes to a dreamy close on "Years in a Day", as our host finds peace with being "always alone".
