About El Guincho

Spanish producer El Guincho, a.k.a. Pablo Días-Reixa, has always been inspired by the tropics, but that influence has taken strikingly different forms. Born in the Canary Islands in 1983, Días-Reixa moved to Barcelona as a teenager and began drumming in indie bands; he launched his solo alias in the mid-2000s, making brightly coloured electronic pop that fused the indie psychedelia of groups like Animal Collective with steel drums, marimba and other Caribbean touches. But his career took a major turn in 2018, when he emerged as the coproducer of Spanish pop sensation ROSALÍA’s groundbreaking album EL MAL QUERER, which fused flamenco, reggaetón and cutting-edge electronic music. Since then, El Guincho has become one of Spain’s most celebrated super-producers, working alongside artists like Bad Gyal, FKA twigs and even Björk, while continuing in his role as one of ROSALÍA’s most trusted beatmakers. As a producer, he continues to fuse Caribbean influences with trap, pop, electronic and more—and occasionally, he even steps out from behind the boards, as he did rapping a self-assured hook on ROSALÍA & J Balvin’s smash “Con Altura”.
