Cameron Avery

About Cameron Avery

Originally from Western Australia, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Cameron Avery was the lead singer of the Growls and played drums for Abbe May before becoming the drummer for acclaimed psych-rock band Pond. He then joined Tame Impala as their touring bassist in 2013, all the while working on his own music. Avery's solo career went in a notably different musical direction: Inspired by the timeless romance of mid-20th century singers like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sarah Vaughan, and Etta James, he crafted witty, lushly arranged songs about falling in and out of love. ~ Heather Phares
