Great podcast
Love the reviews new and old and am excited to hear what’s next. I’d love to recommend directors such as Michael Haneke (The Piano Teacher, Cache) and Lars Von Trier (Dancer in the Dark, Dogville) since these two are fans of Yorgos Lanthimos. Also more Cassavetes (Killing of a Chinese Bookie, Opening Night) and Paul Schrader (Mishima, First Reformed) would be awesome too.
Each host is smart at times…
but it’s like they take turns playing the dope. Case in point: one of them recently referred to The Fablemans as a “thinking movie.”
Think they lost me….
It started off as an interesting convent, even though at times it seemed like only one of the hosts actually played close attention to the movies. They finally lost me when the spent almost an hour discussing the relationships of the same sex couple in Alien: Covenant. It was really a very minor part of the movie, as was James Franco’s appearance.
