Inspiring
I happen to like polaroids and images shot on film - still - just like vinyl it is never really out of fashion.
It is inspiring to see how one can still create a work just with the pure wish to do so, here the mistakes become rather special and make it into individual pieces of art.
I really enjoy looking at these images over and over again, every time I feel a little bit less like a spectator but part of the moods caught and enhanced through the photographers “Beautiful Mistakes”.
PS: I have the iPad version which includes video as well.
Fantastic book
This is a fantastic book full of imagination and seeing models and the environment through a new lens. Love the look of film with the flat muted colours. Love the style and the fact that they all look as if someone who has true experience and inspiration has taken them. A must buy for any serious photobook collector.
Poetic and magnetic
Matt’s book shows just how many ‘mistakes’ are worthy of an audience. The images in this book could quite easily become poetic and magnetic campaigns in their own right.
I love the unfinished nature of some of them, particularly the images of Bethany Brown for Elizabeth Martin’s brand shoot.
Matt is a truly gifted photographer and filmmaker, and it’s brilliant to see him showcase his talents.
