Truls Mørk

About Truls Mørk

Cellist Truls Mørk is one of Scandinavia's leading touring musicians, particularly noted for a romantic, emotional approach derived in part from his Russian-school training. In 1988, Mørk made his recording debut, joining pianist Juhani Lagerspetz on a recording of Brahms' two sonatas for cello and piano. Mørk toured the U.S. with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Mariss Jansons in 1994 and went on to appear as a soloist with many of the world's major orchestras. By 2022, when Mørk issued a recording of cello sonatas by Bridge, Britten, and Debussy, his catalog numbered well over 40 releases.
