About Ralph

RALPH showcases the soul-inflected, mid- to late '80s-inspired electropop of Canadian singer and songwriter Raffa Weyman. The project's eponymous debut EP was released in 2017. Weyman was born and raised in Toronto, where she received classical voice training during her formative years. She started RALPH with a collaborator but had gone solo by the time Skeletory Records released the project's stand-alone debut single, "Trouble," in mid-2015. She later signed with 604 Records, which released RALPH's self-titled debut EP in March 2017. It doubled down on the '80s keyboard timbres and streamlined pop structure. That June, she covered Candi Staton's '70s disco hit "Young Hearts Run Free," and later that year she issued "Screenplay," featuring the Darcys, in conjunction with their November 2017 tour together. In March of 2018, the singer premiered "September Fades," the first single from her full-length debut. ~ Marcy Donelson
