About Future of the Left
Formed from the ashes of the ensembles Mclusky (vocalist/guitarist Andy Falkous and drummer Jack Egglestone) and Jarcrew (vocalist/bassist Kelson Mathias), the aggressive Welsh alt-rock act Future of the Left specializes in jagged, punk/hardcore-influenced tunes. Having collaborated with renowned producer Steve Albini in the Mclusky days, the group is clearly an acolyte of the Big Black/Shellac school of noisy, confrontational rock, as revealed on FOTL’s striking debut, CURSES. Extensive touring in both the U.K. and U.S. has led to more recognition for the band, who were sorely overlooked in past incarnations.
