Point—Travy P’s first EP on the WVS label of rapper/producer Miracle—comes so long after 2013’s Out Of The Blue EP that they could have been made by two different artists. To his credit, the Travy P of Point has grown quite a bit as a rapper. Here, P makes the leap from the bedroom freestyles he once laid over pirated 9th Wonder beats to owning a distant iteration of the clipped, post-trap flows fathered by American rappers like Key and Lil Uzi Vert. “Dial Up”, P’s flex as storyteller, is an unexpected high point.
