The Speaking Piano
Publisher Description
The Speaking Piano is a storybook for primary/elementary age children with related music learning resources. Everyone thinks daydreamy Lily and Jack are too quiet, and they don't join in in "normal" life. But when they start learning piano with Michael the music teacher, everything changes for them.
This book was commissioned by the Goulburn Regional Conservatorium as a resource for the children of the Goulburn region, and a piano commission for Michael Kieran Harvey. The music that Lily and Jack learn is included in this book, with videos and audio voiceover of each page. Many more resources are available through the books' website, which you can access from within the book.

The Speaking Piano
This is just a WONDERFUL book. I expect it would work beautifully just as a print book but the musical component is a sheer delight. A massive thanks to the authors/composer. A marvelous musical interactive book experience.
What a gorgeous book
What a gorgeous book that you have written! My daughter didn't move whilst reading/listening, she loved it and was fascinated at the print music. She can't wait to show her librarian and music teacher at her school! Congratulations and I look forward to reading many more!!
Fabulous story telling in the 21st Century!
I LOVE this book and every child I have shown it to wants to read it again and again. My piano students also want to play the music which is so encouraging. The exquisite illustrations enhance what is already an amazing product. Children get a chance to be totally involved in reading, listening, playing and imagining. What an excellent use of technology to facilitate learning. I recommend it to all youngsters and the young at heart. James Humberstone is nothing short of an inspiration.
