All older versions are not locked, but the optimal experience is not guaranteed below version 8.
If you have a pre-version4 installation of Death Rally, you will automatically unlock the full game in version 4. Also, if you have a Game Center account with achievements from older versions of Death Rally, the full game will automatically unlock using that same Game Center account. If it does not automatically unlock, please tap the 'Social' button in the main hangar view and then 'Restore Career'. You will then also get your progress restored according to what data is in your Game Center account.

Needs maintenance
This game has SO much potential but it's just been abandoned by the developers, I have no problem paying a small fee to unlock the full game but having done so I think they could at least keep updating it occasionally!!
Used to be Totally Addictive but Now Not Looked After
This game used to be ace but after one update stopped working and no other updates were forthcoming. Re-found the game and started playing successfully which is fab except now it's a cut down version with only two (of the least powerful) cars and three tracks. Really hard to win with the less powerful cars and the way of updating to the full game just doesn't work so you're stuffed. At least support the game if it's on the AppStore!! It was one of the best driving games out there as well and still holds up exceptionally well after about 5 years.
Needs fixing
I don't really write reviews but I had to for this game, I had it when it first came out on my iPod touch 3rd gen and it was amazing, I loved it, as time as past it's been deleted and I was thinking about reinstalling it on my iPhone 4, so I did, except my experience this time wasn't the same, the screen resolution was messed up and so was the controls, all the buttons seemed to be placed elsewhere. Please fix this for iPhone 4 users because it's such a good game and I would like to play it again in the future
